Amy and I went over to Amy's parents' house for dinner this weekend. During the evening, we started talking about how our nephew Soren was going 'camping' at his G-Pa's house and how they were going to set up a tent in the living room. We then remarked about how amazing it was that we hadn't found the boys sleeping in the tent that's been up in their room for months now. Every night we go up and find the boys asleep, under the covers, in their own beds.
Until last night, when we went up to check on them and discovered this:
We have absolutely no idea how they ended up this way. It took a ton of effort to disentangle the two of them and get Timmy back to his own bed, especially since we were stifling laughter the whole time.
So that no one thinks that Tim gets shafted.... (the videos and pictures aren't as plentiful since he still needs more hands on help and its usually just me with him swimming, playing outside, etc....)
Our family enjoyed delicious spider cookies for dessert this evening, all made entirely by Nicholas!
He found a recipe that he wanted to try and we got the ingredients we needed at the grocery store this morning. He got his mis-en-place together, followed the recipe step by step and made them all by himself! He did a great job and was VERY proud to deliver the plates to the table after we all finished dinner. :)
Yesterday, the buddies and I hung out together while Amy was off at a photo shoot. The weather was simple amazing for this time of year - low 40s and clear blue skies - so we headed outside to enjoy it while it lasted. Of course the buddies promptly decided that it would be the perfect time to ride bikes. The blanket of snow still covering the ground did nothing to dampen their enthusiasm:
They eventually grabbed most of their vehicles, including the Cozy Coupe my Aunt Helen gave us when Nick was little. The amazing thing is that it actually runs on grass:
They're lucky that I find them so stinkin' cute since this is what I found 20 minutes after they asked to play up in their room during quiet time the other day.
I'm glad that I went up to check on them after 20 minutes since they hadn't finished emptying the dresser yet (although the closet and bookshelf were finished...). Thankfully, we had a birthday party in our plans for the afternoon and I could use it as leverage for cleanup. Despite many protests of "I'm too tired", "it's too much", "this isn't fun", etc., Nick did help me get everything picked up and put away. Phew!
He's really darn lucky that he's cute.... since this is what Greg found out in our front yard last Friday:
including the $65 spare (and now unusable) camera battery:
Evidently, the mailman thought it'd be ok to leave our mail (which, granted did include a medium sized box) in the driveway rather than in the mailbox or on the porch. Not really....
So, I just realized what the actual date is today (yes, I make it through the entire day not really knowing what day it is....), and that my niece's birthday was in fact yesterday and not today as I had thought. Sigh....
Anyhow, let's just pretend that this post arrived here yesterday :)

Although we'd love to be there celebrating with her, the Maine St. Pierre contingent sends our most joyful birthday wishes out to a one lucky birthday gal in Shoreline! Happy 3rd birthday Zoe! We really wished that we could have been there with you to celebrate, so we did the next best thing we could think of and made some special birthday cupcakes in your honor :)

But not before a quick hug for Jake...
A little stirring...
And sifting....
And more stirring...
