Trucks!

Nick was in heaven last Saturday afternoon! We attended a "touch-a-truck" event in the OT and he was SO excited!

Kudos to parks & rec for such a great showing with so many cool trucks for the kids to check out, and of course, to the folks who were willing to hand over their machines to the little guys :)

Hangin' out on a steamroller...

Checking out the firetrucks...

Taking the helicopter for a spin...

At the wheel of a big rig...

On another steamroller...

Up in the excavator...

Getting ready to plow the sidewalks...

Operating the mini-excavator...

And maybe one of the most exciting parts.... up in the bucket on a ladder truck

playtime

We've had a few balmy days over the last week or so.  The boys and I have taken advantage of the nice weather and gotten out to play in the yard a bit including some time in the leaves

and a grass fight...

Field trip to Twig's

Nick's preschool class had a field trip to Treworgy's Orchards (Twig's) a few weeks ago.  Despite the brisk weather, the kids had a great time and were SO excited to be there!
(Flying like airplanes to the orchard)

They got a tour of the orchard where they learned about apples

and got to sample a few

They got to add apples to a cider press

and of course, sample a little cider

The next stop was a hayride to the gourd patch
(that's Tim in the red in my sling)

where they got to pick out their own gourd.

Then it was back onto the hayride back to the barn to feed the goats and have a snack.

It was a really fun time. I'm so glad that I had the chance to see the kids in action "at school" and to share their excitement! Tim & his buddy Kristian had a great time too :)

After the field trip, we decided to stop at C&K's for a bite to eat with some friends. Mind you, this was the site of the infamous salt & pepper shaker incident - yes, the same one that is the source of all of my trepidation regarding bringing the boys out to eat.... However, this time, both boys were great, as were all of the kids! The "big kids"even got to sit at their own table.

Plus, us moms even got a bite to eat too -what more could we ask for? :)
