Greg and I celebrated our 10th anniversary with a night away to MDI (ok, so we didn't go too far!). We managed to squeeze in a quick hike up Penobscot & Sargent Mountains. The view from the top was spectacular and a little different than the angles we're used to from our usual vantage points.
Nice up the nose parting shot!
It was fun to get out and spend time kidless for a change, as well as to head out to dinner at a restaurant, just the two of us with no deadline for getting home!
We've enjoyed some time out at camp again this summer. The boys are becoming more and more independent... like swimming out to the float on their own (we make them wear life jackets just in case)
and like helping Grandma hang the bat house (with the hope that some bats will take residence and eat the mosquitos!)
and like playing on their own
and like getting down to some sweet tunes
Anna has had her pick of friends to play with too
Kicking back
Swimming with the gang
S'mores of course
a little evening cleanup
even humoring their mother for a cute pic
Going out for a spin (I know - not a single one of them has life jackets on but we also have the boat tied to the shore)
Nick is now fully kayaking on his own this summer, often taking the boat out to paddle around the cove. He maneuvers really well and is pretty pleased with his new found freedom
