Goal!

Nick is playing soccer this fall and is super excited to have Greg as his coach. His team had their first game a few weeks back on a lovely morning in September.

The game went surprisingly well and after a while, the kids even figured out which goal they were aiming for :) Thankfully, in these games, the teams don't switch sides of the field at the half!

Here are a few shots from warmup

Good game guys!

meet James

This is James the grasshopper who came to visit Tim and I in the yard last week.

Once the visit was wrapping up, Tim thought that James might like to hop around in the grass a little.

and away he went

Kindergarten update

You can stay updated on Nick's Kindergarten class by checking out their blog: Mrs Welch's Kindergarten

This week they had a great field trip to Conants Orchard in Etna, where our family used to go apple picking when I was Nick's age. I was lucky enough to be one of the chaperones too and sit with Nick on the bus :)

Here's Nick on the bus

The kids got to ride on a flatbed trailer behind a tractor up to the orchard, where they got a super lesson in apple growing and harvesting:

It was a great time!

They headed back to the classroom to read "Ten Apples up on Top." Here's Nick with 14 apples up on top - so talented!

I wonder if he can do it and hop and drink...
