Whee!

The kids and I stayed at school one afternoon last month to play in the snow. It was a freezing cold day but the sun was shining and we were having a blast!

Remote control

I got a remote shutter release for Christmas this year and finally got around to setting up the camera and trying it out. Tim was more than willing to help me with this one!


It even works from under the covers :)


Then, I realized that I might actually be able to get a few pictures of me with the kids (and therefore, have proof that I did exist!)


Tim was having a great time clicking away (you are only seeing a mere fraction of the shots we got!)

and we even got Greg in on the deal


although getting Tim to give up the remote was not popular


Then Nick came home from the playdate he was on and joined in the fun


and we got crazy and even tried for a family picture



with a few tickles of course


there was a little silliness


but some sweetness too

Cuteness

Nick is a great reader but really doesn't like to read out loud to anyone. I know that we're supposed to be having him practice but it is a real battle every time I try. However, lure him with a promise of earned screen time and we might be able to work something out....

Early spring

It's been kind of an early spring for us around here. While the kids are kind of bummed that there's no snow to play in, they're managing to keep themselves occupied with a little off-roading...




and trying to run down Mom :)

Valentines Fun

Since everything is all about Star Wars right now, the boys decided to make Star Wars cookies for Valentines Day. We retrofitted them a little to add a little more love to the theme


They were packaged up and given out like this:

Superbowl

We headed up to Old Town for Superbowl Sunday with the family. Although the Kettells weren't able to join us this time, they were there in spirit and in our thoughts. We've all healed alot over the last year since Papa left us, but none of us was unaffected by the memories of this time last year. We were glad to be with Grandma for the day, enjoying each other's company and hopefully creating some positive memories to go along with the day.

The weather was fantastic so the kids headed outside for some sledding fun. The snow (well, the little that was left) had been coated with a layer ice making it SLICK! And the boys LOVED it!!









For a while, it looked like Nick might end up in the river


And eveyone had a turn heading into the trees


Greg even tried some new tricks (yes, he did actually go over backwards)


Soren took out his new snowboard and was shredding up the slope
