Strawberry time

It has been strawberry time around here lately (not to be confused with Blackberry Time -a shameless plug for the super-talented fellow D'94 Jud Caswell). The boys and I headed out to Tate's last Tuesday for some berry picking. The boys were excellent pickers and got right to work







with only a little sampling


They found some great looking berries


But the highlight of the trip was likely the ride in the tractor!


Later in the week, we joined some friends for another berry-picking adventure followed by a trip to Twigs for ice cream. The kids had a great time hanging out with their friends and even scored a free hayride around the farm. A great time all around!

Mudfest

The boys were playing in the sprinkler last week and found a bald spot in the grass which turned into a little mudhole


which turned into a bigger mudhole and some really dirty , but really happy little boys

Exploring Maine

We headed down to Searsport last week to check out Mosman Park and managed to time it just right for low tide.

Since it was blistering hot out, we skipped the playground and headed straight for the water.

We did some exploring in the tidepools

and found a few new friends

cooling our feet off as the tide came in

Nick found a little pirate's gold and spent much of the time searching for more pirate treasure

while Tim was happy collecting lots of seaweed

and seashells

We found a nice little shady spot on the beach where we had a picnic lunch and surveyed the day's haul

The tide came in quickly

so we decided to head on home,

but not without a stop for ice cream along the way :) A perfect summer day!
