Three year old joys

Tim is almost as excited about tractors as he is about tools. I hear excited shouting from the backseat whenever we pass one on the road. If we're ever looking for Tim, one of the first places to check is on the lawn tractor in the garage. The other day, Greg decided to make Tim's day and took for a spin while moving the lawn. He was SOOO excited!


Now, if we can just keep the enthusiasm going for another 8 or 9 years so he can mow the lawn on his own ;)

family visit

We had the honor of being a stop along the 2010 Winnebago Tour this year, my uncles Jim & John's annual road trip. They were joined for the weekend by my cousin Kevin who made the trek up from NJ via Boston. It was great to see them and get a chance to catch up, especially since there are no Keegan weddings on the calendar (at the moment, at least). After a fun filled lobster bake hosted by Amanda, we headed to Dysarts for breakfast and then out to camp, for a real Maine experience.



The day could not have been more beautiful and there was even a breeze to help keep the bugs down some. Grandma arrived in her superhero outfit, ready to save anyone who ventured out too far on their swim ;)

quiet day

After quite a bit of excitement and activity for the last few weeks, we decided it was time for a quiet day around here. The boys and I lazed around in the morning with Nick and I sleeping until 8 (what a treat after being up in the night!). We stopped in at the library to pick out some new reading material and then headed on down to Stockton Springs for a little picnic on the beach.



We got there at high tide (one of these days I'm going to remember to check the tide charts before we leave) and did a little wandering around on the beach.



The boys hunted for sea glass, and while they didn't find any pieces that were ready yet, they found some other treasures :)



It was a little windy but beautiful and so peaceful.



We had some lunch, played in the sand, collected rocks and relaxed.



For me, it was the perfect distraction from this



and a chance to get my head ready for this. For the boys, it was a welcome break from all of the excitement and a much-needed chance to unwind. The boys both said they were tired and wanted to take a "nap" on the beach.



That didn't last too long but was fun anyhow :)



It was the perfect activity for the day. A little sun, sea and fresh air. Ahhh!

hot hot hot

A huge thanks to the Petersons who have graciously invited us to invade their house and use the pool. We've spent the last 2 days beating the heat (90 degree temps in Maine in May!!) and lounging in the water. Lovely!

The boys had lots of fun swimming around and literally stayed in the water for hours yesterday.



Today, we headed over after school and enjoyed more of the same. After a delicious dinner on the deck, the boys all opted for a little skinnydip in place of bath :)



Pool chemicals are a wonderful thing!

remember

I keep this blog for a few reasons: to keep friends and relatives updated on the kids, to share photos, occasionally to vent, but most of all as a way to help remember some of the wonderful moments that are happening so quickly as the kids grow up.

We were out at camp this afternoon enjoying a gorgeous day on the water with the brave Keegans who ventured up north. Tim and I were headed down toward the beach when he decided he didn't want to walk anymore. He grabbed my hands and put his feet on mine and we continued walking. As we walked, Tim threw his curly head back spilling out peels of laughter. Pure joy :)

I'm realizing that the old saying I keep hearing is right. They do grow up so fast and they are little for such a short time. But, I'm hoping that the memories will live on for a long time.
