Birthday part deux

Tim's friend Luke wasn't able to make it to the party so we decided to have a little separate birthday celebration with him a few days later. The boys and I went bowling and it was hilarious to watch them!


I think at one point they had about 8 balls going down the lane at once...But, it was all you can bowl, so why not?!


There was a little healthy competition for the ball that they decided was the Star Wars ball (no idea where that came from - it was grey with some red blotches on it)


and so after a few tears (from Tim of course) we figured out that there were a bunch of star wars balls, representing all of the different characters. phew!


Crisis averted and successful bowling mission!

New ride

Tim outgrew his old bike and Grandma got him a new bike for his birthday. He has been having a great time riding it!

Cluck cluck

Tim and I went across the street last week to feed our neighbors' chickens. He happened to be home and invited Tim to collect the eggs from the laying boxes inside the coop. Tim thought it was pretty cool - especially the egg that felt warm. (That one was in the box that just had a chicken in it) We even got to bring the eggs home! Tim suggested we have eggs for dinner that night and so we made a frittata. We had to supplement with 3 eggs from the store (the chickens had been outside since the weather was so nice so there weren't quite as many eggs in the boxes. they sometimes lay in the trees! well, that and Tim had eggs for lunch too) Can you tell which ones are the store eggs?

Tim's b'day soiree

We asked Tim this year what he wanted to do for his birthday. Like last year, he said he wanted a party at the bowling alley. We said he could invite 5 friends since he was turning 5 and asked who he wanted to invite. He said Luke, Caleb, Ben, Soren and Teddy's mom. I asked if he meant Teddy? He said he could come but he meant Teddy's mom :) Very cute since she's the only one who made the cut from last year too :)

So, we planned a small party at the bowling alley. Once you get past the sketchiness of the place, it really is an awesome setup for an indoor birthday party for kids. The kids seemed to love it and all bowled to their hearts content!


The 4 and 5 year old set have their own bowling style - that's for sure!


After working up an appetite, we settled down for some snacks and cake (the millenium falcon and Darth Vader, both a la Greg)






Tim even got a special birthday hug from his love, Teddy's mom :)

It was wacky hair day at school last week and Nick was very excited to participate

Another soccer superstar in the making

Tim is also doing indoor soccer this year and what a treat it has been (especially compared with the experience this fall) He is following directions, participating and telling us how much he loves it!! Soren is also doing it and having a great time. The two of them are so cute out there!





We are working on appropriate use of his hands ;)

Soccer superstar

Both Nick and Tim are doing indoor soccer this month and loving it! I'm absolutely thrilled :) Nick has practice on Friday evening (not that we actually ever go anywhere, but really, who thought that was a good idea?) and then games each Saturday morning. He always gets excited for "the big game" each week :)
