Highland Halloween
Tim's preschool held a Halloween parade the other day. It was so stinkin' cute seeing all of those little 3 year olds dressed up in costumes (and also that it wasn't my kid screaming or freaking out!)

Sunday morning adventure
What to do on a lovely sunny Sunday morning in the fall in Maine? Well, head over to Pine Haven, of course! With Greg out of town, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to hang out in the park and soak up a little of the Park Life. Kevin and Stan were working on replacing some piping around a few of the units and had rented a backhoe so Amanda figured it'd be a fun activity for the kids to go for digger rides. With Greg out of town and an entire day alone with the kids stretching ahead of me, I jumped at the chance! It was very entertaining and we were not disappointed in the least.

Field trip, part deux
After our stroll through Asticou, we headed down the road to Seal Harbor for lunch at one of my most favorite beaches ever.
We ate on one of the floats that had just been pulled out of the water
and then wandered around on the beach for a while
checking out the wildlife
and doing little boy things
I'm starting to feel that the freedom we've enjoyed for the last 5 years is slipping away as our schedule starts to fill with school and other activities and a spur of the moment trip to the coast becomes harder and harder to do. So, knowing that these days are numbered, I am appreciating them so much more. What a lovely escape from the regular routine this was!
On our way out, we decided to follow Sargent Drive
and I just had to stop to snap a shot of this:
I left T in the car since it was so windy and he captured this:
We rounded the day out with a quick stop at the Town Hill playground and then headed home to meet the school bus.
A perfect day!

Field trip
After seeing how beautiful MDI was during the marathon, Tim and I decided to take a little trip down during the week and we were not disappointed! The fall color was out in force and the sun was shining
Our first stop was the Asticou Azalea Gardens. Lovely! I've driven by a million times, but never actually stopped in until last week.
What a gorgeous peaceful place. We nearly had the place to ourselves which along with the scenery, probably helped with the ambiance.
Tim was great and wandered around with me
pausing now and again to try out a bench, pose for a picture or to have me identify plants with him :)
The fall color was spectacular
Tim's favorite spot was the bridge and waterfall
I think mine may have been under a japanese maple
I told Tim I liked the shape of the leaves so he gave them some kisses
Definitely worth a visit again
