Thanks Vets

The boys and I ventured into Bangor for the Veterans Day parade this morning.  We were joined by Grandma, and Amanda, Kevin and Soren.  Despite the chilly weather, the kids had a great time running around on the sidewalk waiting for the parade to make it to where we were

licking windows of local businesses (don't ask me...)

saying hi to the huge monkey that was wandering around (again, no idea there...)

and of course watching the parade!

I want to extend a huge thanks to all of the men and women who've served for the country. While I may not agree with the wars they serve in, I absolutely appreciate their efforts and the immense sacrifice that they've made.

Seattle revisted: visit with Nana & Pepere

So, I got off topic for a while but there's still much more to post about our trip to Seattle!

The boys spent some time down in Buckley with their grandparents while Greg and I stayed up in Seattle for a couple more days (for some late nights of wining and dining, including a visit to Fremont's Octoberfest...). A great time was had by all :)

Everyone headed down to Buckley for some family time on Saturday. The kids had fun playing with each other

having heart-to-hearts

spelling some words

playing cars

getting a little work done

making some music

and of course, reading some stories...

We were able to celebrate Pepere's birthday while we were there. Happy birthday Pepere!

The trip would not be complete without a visit to the local playground.

nice glass

I just used a birthday gift certificate to get a new lens for our camera (thanks St. Pierres!).  It arrived arrived today and I took it out for a quick spin to see what it could do.

Wow!  Even keeping the settings pretty well automated (I'm still scared of going completely manual...esp trying to keep up with the kids), the photos come out so crisp!

I still need a lot of work on getting the focus in the right spot...well, and a lot of other things including getting the kiddos to cooperate ;)

but a nice lens certainly helps!

Mr. T

Tim's attitude matched his hair today....

Moooooooo

Tim is pretty good at telling you what a cow says.  We tested him out with a trip to see the cows at Witter Farm this morning.  Nick, Tim and I were joined by Grandma, Papa and Soren on a beautiful but chilly morning at the farm.

Nick had a great time and the little boys weren't too afraid of the cows this time (well, except for the big cow who kept sticking his tongue out...) and seemed to really enjoy themselves.
