Climbing trees

Back in November while Greg was in Seattle, we headed over to the Peterson homestead to check out the construction of their new swingset.  It was a beautiful day and the boys had a fabulous time running around, driving the jeep all over,

and oh, helping with the construction....

We even got a quick photo session in for the Peterson family Holiday card this year too and of course, the rewards :)

The tree

Tim's teacher told me that they were asking the kids about Christmas trees, and who had a real tree and who had a fake tree.  Tim's answer was that he had a real tree. Definitely.  But, we just hadn't taken it out of the box yet :)

Tday 2011

The Kettells travelled all of the way up from MA for a lovely thanksgiving this year. We shook things up a little and hosted at our house for the first time ever. The kids played and colored while we were getting ready

while the adults munched and cooked

and even Miss Mallory got in on the action

What would a family gathering be without a group kid picture?

The kids burned off some of their turkey energy with a little snow time

and then the boys settled in to watch the game

Another walk in the woods

Tim and I headed out for a walk in the woods the other morning with Jake. It was a little on the chilly side, but still nice to be outside and Jake LOVED it....

Library woods

We headed for a walk on the trails behind the library on a lovely fall afternoon.

and found all kinds of neat looking mushrooms! The boys tried kicking over as many of them as possible (Beth, we need those park ranger/warden/nature police up here!!) but we took a few pictures of them too since they were some colors I'd never seen before (in mushrooms)...

Seriously, purple mushrooms?

Glowing

While Greg was in Seattle, I tried to keep things fun for the kids (and keep them under control) with little rewards for good behavior. One of their rewards was a glow in the dark bath... A package of glow bracelets - $1. The good behavior I got, and the sound of them giggling and playing in the bath - priceless!

Flashback

So I was looking through some pictures from this summer and found a few from a day trip that the boys and I took down to Belfast City Park. I didn't even realize that there was a park there, let alone the beautiful one that we found.

The view from the playground

And then, there was the playground.... it was super cool and the boys loved it

After a jaunt on the playground, we headed down to the water for a picnic lunch and some water playtime

Doesn't it look dreamy and warm?

We'll definitely be heading back there again!

Success!!!!

Interrupting our regular absence from the blog with a newsflash!

You may recall a post or two about Tim's reluctance to participate in swimming lessons over the last few months. After much debate, I signed him up for another session and he started tonight. We went in with the plan that if he decided to continue his uncooperative streak, we'd withdraw him from lessons for the rest of the session and take a break. But, lo and behold, he cooperated! He did awesome! Jumping in, floating and even doing a little kickboard work. It was amazing! My old swimmy Timmy was back :)

Sorry - no pictures.... I didn't want to jinx anything by snapping pix but you can count on some for next week....

Because I can't have a post with out a photo, here's a random picture of him from this summer :)
