Inspired

Not sure if it was the abundant sunshine and beautiful weather or what, but Nick was inspired this morning! He sat down and produced some fabulous portraits of our family! It was a welcome change from the treasure maps that were his favorite subject for the last 6 months or so:

a more elaborate treasure map, with LOTS of treasure

This was the first piece produced. He instructed me to note the curly hair covering part of my face. :)

We then got this, complete with grey whiskers and hairs ;)

Tim (notice the curly hair covering the ears - yes, Tim needs a haircut), and Nick as an alien (of course):

The dog, complete with curly tail, was not forgotten:

The whole family together:

Later in the afternoon, he was inspired to capture a scene he witnessed outside, Tim and mom on a swing:

He must be following in the footsteps of his Uncle Chris :) (check out the 3rd picture)

The great outdoors

The weather has been simply phenomenal (ok, qualify that, for March) here lately and we've been taking advantage by spending quite a bit out time outside. The boys ride bikes, draw with chalk, play pirate/space ship, etc while I hang out, clean up the flower beds, or play with the camera. Here are just a few random shots from our playtime:

Totally Nick

Look at that chin dimple!

Very Tim

Nick & reflector (he didn't really like this)

Come on

Strutting (I think he looks like Greg here)

The growl (hysterics follow)

I'll smile for an m&m (yes, I'm not above bribery)

Even the dog can't hide (and gives me attitude)

A walk in the woods

We went for a little stroll in the university woods yesterday. There was still a little snow but it was great to be outside - in the sun - in early March!

The boys thought it was pretty cool

Tim had lots to say about the trees - he was trying to convince us it was the jungle. Jungles of Maine, maybe?

Not sure what this was about but the face makes me giggle

The instant I snapped that I heard a gazump. I looked. I saw something pop out of the stump:

He was shortish and youngish and blondish and cute and he talked non-stop about tractors and fruit... (give me a break - it rhymes... I'm no Dr. Seuss)

Ok, so they went from the Lorax to a monster pretty quickly

Nick was really having fun with that

Chasing after me

Jake had a good time too

summer in March

Last Thursday, the sun was shining and the thermometer hit 40 so we did the obvious and headed to the beach! It was SOOO nice to get back out there and everyone had a great time playing in the sand, throwing rocks into the water and exploring the beach. Tim even napped on the way home :) I can't wait for summer!
